At this week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Garmin showed off new versions of its Nuvifone. Unlike its last version, which had decent navigation but terrible phone capabilities, the new versions use Android and Windows Mobile for their smartphone operating systems. CNET's Bonnie Cha's said she believes Garmin may be approaching real convergence between smartphone and GPS device. In other car tech news from the MWC, Navteq announced detailed 3D maps for Western European cities. Images obtained from Navteq show a nicely rendered model of downtown Munich, Germany.
