The Toyota Avalon receives several changes for 2011, including new styling and several new features as standard equipment, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh, who takes it out on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula to see what it's all about. 
Coming to Canada in July, the "elegant and sumptuous" 2011 Infiniti QX56 SUV features a reworked 5.6-litre V8 with 25 per cent more horsepower and improved fuel economy, a new seven-speed automatic transmission, and a unique body motion control system. 
With its chrome grille, chrome alloys and body kit, the new Cube Krom "looks like a kind of urban-chic street cruiser," says editor-in-chief, Greg Wilson. "Whether the transition from cute to brute really works is debatable," he says. 
The F-350 is tall, which makes for good visibility, but getting in and out of tight parking spots is a task. While the truck rides rough over uneven pavement, the diesel engine is unexpectedly quiet. 
The latest addition to the CanadianDriver long-term test fleet is the 2010 Acura ZDX. Managing Editor Grant Yoxon begins with a detailed description of what this vehicle is, what features it has, and what people on the street think about its unique styling. 
For A-to-B transportation, a used Cobalt actually doesn't look like a bad choice, says Contributing Editor, Chris Chase. Problem areas to look out for include the brakes, suspension, and in manual transmission cars, the shift linkage, he says. 
On the west coast, where old British cars don't rust away quite as quickly as the rest of Canada, Senior Editor Paul Williams was impressed with this show's display of ordinary British family cars like Anglias, Cambridges, Minors, and Victors. 
The success of the Ford Mustang in 1964 motivated Ford to introduce a European 'pony car' called the Capri. It was smaller and less powerful than the Mustang, but proved so successful in Europe that it was imported to North America.
