	This week in Car Tech Wayne Cunningham CNET.com 85 miles in an electric car Mitsubishi recently invited us to drive its i-Miev electric car from San Francisco to Sacramento, an 85 mile journey for which the i-Miev did not actually have the range. To let us cover the distance, and to show off some new technology, we stopped in Vacaville, Calif., about 55 miles outside of San Francisco, for a recharge at Eaton's new rapid recharge station. Until the full cost of fossil fuels (carbon) is reflected in their pricing, electric vehicles will be a tough sell without any government subsidies.
