The Action Express Racing Riley-Porsche--“Action Express Racing” was stenciled, almost apologetically, on the nose of the car, but nowhere else--dominated the race, leading 316 of 755 laps. Second was one of the two Chip Ganassi Racing cars; Ganassi's other car lost an engine and finished 15th of the 15 Daytona Prototypes entered in the Grand-Am season-opener. One of Level 5 Racing's Riley-BMW's finished third overall.
In the GT class, it seemed no one wanted to win, as leaders and favorites fell by the wayside until a SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 finally took the checkered flag, for the second time in three years.... |
