"Thin and light," a new designation in our Ratings, covers laptops that are not only extremely portable but also pack a powerful punch.

Find out how best to view the 2012 London Olympics, which run until August 12, whether you're at home or on a mobile device. We evaluate some of the apps that can enhance your Olympic experience, plus the best TVs for watching all the action.
Cars: Fuel-efficient engines rev up compact sporty SUVs, and the Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid
Our SUV road tests find manufacturers pursuing fuel economy with different solutions; Acura goes with a V6 for the redesigned RDX, while BMW shifts to a turbocharged four. Likewise, the Cadillac SRX employs a larger, more powerful V6 this year, whereas the Audi Q5, Ford Edge, and Kia Sportage add turbo four-cylinder engines. Some powertrains work better than others.

At $33,745, the Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid promises to be a significant domestic-branded challenger to the Toyota Prius. Ford's plug-in hybrid boasts a 550-mile total range and 95 MPGe when driven in electric mode.
Home: Best bathroom fixtures and surfaces, and blenders that multitask
Our experts spent months testing the latest countertops, flooring, sinks, toilets, and more, so that you can get a luxurious bath that can handle harried Monday mornings and soothing weekend soaks alike.

Some blenders now add impressive puréeing, grating, and chopping to the usual tasks of making mixed drinks, for less than $100. But as our tests show, several multitasking models are no bargain at any price.
Health: How to prevent the pain of shingles, and 10 ways to avoid Zumba injuries
This adult form of chicken pox affects more than 1 million people age 60 and up each year. Shingles may begin with tingling and itching and surface as a painful rash of small blisters on one side of the face, body, or legs. Fortunately there are both preventive and treatment options for shingles.

Zumba, the Latin dance-inspired fitness craze, is a great way to burn calories, up to 500 per hour. It also gives you a good cardiovascular workout without making you feel like you're exercising. But for people who are out of shape, taking the first classes can be like trying to run a marathon without ever having jogged around a track. Follow our 10 tips to avoid Zumba injuries.
Babies and kids: FDA bans use of BPA in bottles and sippy cups
The Food and Drug Administration has banned the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in baby bottles and sippy cups. But there's more to do. Consumers Union, the advocacy arm of Consumer Reports, says the next step should be to ban the chemical in infant-formula containers.
