Volkswagen will bring the seventh, count 'em, seventh generation of the Volkswagen Golf to the United States sometime next year, likely toward the end. The hatch is longer, lower and wider than the previous model, and it's considerably lighter.
It goes on sale in Europe in November. We don't have pictures yet, but this will whet your appetite: A GTi concept will be shown...
