A GM engine will return to the track in the IndyCar series in 2012.

The schedule is set: General Motors on Friday announces its return to the Izod IndyCar Series as an engine supplier, beginning in the 2012 season. The press conference is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Eastern. You can watch it live here on streaming video.
GM is expected to confirm that either the Chevrolet or Cadillac brand will support an IndyCar engine program when the series introduces turbocharged V6 powerplants--along with a new Dallara chassis design--at the start of the 2012 season. IndyCar officials are working to get several carmakers to sign up as engine suppliers for the open-wheel race series....
